Bainbridge

A historic downtown with many locally owned businesses—including some antique stores—is what most people will notice about downtown Bainbridge. Bainbridge is located in the southeastern part of Chenango County. Bainbridge is 35 minutes east of Binghamton, and 25 minutes west of Oneonta. Bainbridge is located off Interstate 88 (Exit 8). Route 206, Route 8, Route 7, and Interstate 88 are major routes into Bainbridge.

The local community is welcoming of new developments. It is also home to the annual General Clinton Canoe Regatta that draws several thousand visitors each year, as well as a new Ice Carnival in January. Bainbridge has an active farmer’s market in its downtown park each week.

Bainbridge is home to the Bainbridge Development Corporation, which owns a business park in Bainbridge. Lew Whitney is currently President of that group, and he can be reached at 607-967-8102. The BDC is interested in any developments that will benefit Bainbridge, whether they are downtown or in the greater Bainbridge area.

Bainbridge also has an active Chamber of Commerce. Contact their office at 607-967-8700.
